ELEVATING A BRAND 70 YEARS IN THE MAKING

In over a dozen countries across the planet, World Relief partners with local churches to catalyze change — resulting in thriving families, flourishing communities and strengthened churches.

StudioNorth’s relationship with World Relief began as the organization was preparing to celebrate its 70th anniversary. To get a better understanding of World Relief’s past, present and future, we sent a team to the Baltimore headquarters to meet with the organization’s key stakeholders and hear their stories firsthand.

We also sifted through historical documents dating back to World Relief’s inception as the War Relief Fund in the early 1940s to create a timeline of events that would help inform several activities going forward.

World Relief wanted to create a gift for donors that would help reshape the organization’s brand, capture its rich history and reinforce its relevance to today’s most vulnerable communities.

The result: a hand-bound, limited-edition book that takes the reader on a journey through an engaging historical timeline — a treasure trove of photos, newsletters and stories. The book was a tremendous success with World Relief donors and stakeholders.

Another early campaign deliverable was a new logo created specifically for the year-long anniversary celebration. The logo was applied to posters, digital and print marketing collateral, and social media.

Reimagining the annual report

For World Relief, the annual report serves an important purpose: telling the powerful story of how World Relief has stood alongside people in need around the globe.

Through the generous use of beautiful photography featuring the people and communities World Relief has helped, the annual report integrates messages of faith, compassion and a humanitarian approach while serving as an effective fundraising tool.

Bringing hope during the holidays

Each year, World Relief publishes a holiday gift catalog — The Catalog of Hope — as a way for supporters to give to the most vulnerable in the world. The catalog is mailed along with a remittal envelope; orders may be placed online, via mail or by phone. StudioNorth redesigned the catalog to reflect the elevated style developed during the creation of the 70th anniversary book.

Supporting World Relief chapters at home

In addition to working directly with vulnerable communities across the globe, World Relief also operates through 25 offices across the United States to help refugees secure housing, employment and education.

As part of the 70th anniversary celebration, we created a kit that was sent to each of the chapter locations. The kit contained a variety of resources the chapters could use in the community and in conjunction with local churches.
